Where’s the bathroom — that’s one of the most common questions asked in a recreation center. A bathroom may be situated anywhere, Guests will find it anyway, but it is wise to make it easier for them to spot it, and reach it.

In children’s recreation centers, the bathroom area is top priority. It has to be sterile and convenient, and have kid-size bathroom fitments.

Bathrooms for children should meet special requirements: low-level driers, kid-size sinks and toilets, stools and chairs to make it easier for little people to wash their tiny hands. Moreover, in modern centers, children are allowed to leave their shoes and walk in socks. But still, there should be special slippers at the bathroom entrance.

Every day Guests are testing the limits of bathroom equipment. Partitions between bathroom stalls, doors and locks, handles and taps, driers and soap dispensers — all of it is exposed to frequent, exhausting use.

For example, our centers have taps equipped with light sensors. Traditional taps are easily broken, and some Guests forget to close them. Light sensors solve both problems. They cost more, but they’re more resilient, and they almost don’t lose water.

We also abandoned paper towels, as it turned out we had been losing a lot of money with them. They cost us 50 thousand rubles monthly! Besides, on most busy days, disposable towels make you change litter bins every 15 minutes.

Of course, sooner or later, we had to shift to automatic driers.

Remember: bathrooms are spaces that encourage creativity. There’s a plenty of design ideas for bathrooms, which I collect at Pinterest. Bathrooms are areas where Guests like to hear something relaxing or amusing: from sounds of nature and thematic music to jokes.

Make your Guests tell each other to «check out the bathroom here!»
